About Me

I currently own a private practice in Alpharetta, GA. I've been in private practice since 1990 and licensed in Georgia as a clinical social worker since 1988. I received my BA in Psychology from Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT, in 1980 and my MSW (Masters in Social Work) from Boston University School of Social Work in Boston, MA, in 1982.

After receiving my MSW, I worked in New York at a foster care/adoption agency doing home studies and preparing prospective parents to receive children. I then worked as an investigator and caseworker with the Massachusetts Department of Social Services, the state's child protective service organization. After moving to Georgia in 1985 I worked at Charter Peachford Hospital, a psychiatric facility, first in inpatient services on the child unit, then in outpatient services.

In 1990 I went into private practice, seeing individuals, couples and families. I have also led groups for women with co-dependency issues and those with childhood sexual trauma, and I have conducted parenting workshops through the Active Parenting program.

In addition, I have experience counseling breast cancer survivors.
